Mass immigration under President Biden and Vice President Harris is driving up housing costs, overwhelming healthcare services, and filling public schools in smaller American cities like Springfield, Ohio. Since 2021, the administration has brought over nine million migrants into the U.S., with Springfield receiving about 20,000 Haitian migrants.
This influx has sharply raised housing prices. Many landlords now rent primarily to Haitians willing to pay much higher rates, pricing out local residents. Sen. JD Vance warned that mass immigration is worsening job prospects, housing availability, and draining public resources. Healthcare services have also been stretched thin, with medical consultations lengthening due to communication challenges, and the cost of hiring translators has surged. Schools, too, are feeling the strain, with hundreds of Haitian children joining local classrooms, adding pressure on the already stretched system.
Local leaders have voiced concerns, declaring the current situation “unsustainable.”
