A 14-year-old boy in Merced, California, shot and killed a man during an argument over drugs and prostitution, police reported. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Saturday at a residence on Conestoga Drive. Police found a 41-year-old man dead from a gunshot wound and identified the boy as the suspect.

The boy fled to San Jose but was apprehended at a motel on Monday with the help of surveillance footage and witnesses. He was charged with homicide and booked into the Iris Garrett Juvenile Justice Correctional Complex. No other arrests were made, although two adults and another juvenile were present during the incident.
