Austrian-Canadian auto parts billionaire Frank Stronach has been arrested on charges of sexual assault spanning from the 1980s to 2023, according to Peel Regional Police. The 91-year-old faces five charges, including rape, indecent assault, sexual assault, and forcible confinement. He was released under conditions and will appear in court at a later date.

Peel Regional Police Constable Tyler Bell confirmed multiple accusers but did not disclose the exact number. Police urge anyone with information or who has been a victim to come forward.

Stronach has denied the allegations through his lawyer, Brian Greenspan, stating he looks forward to clearing his name and maintaining his legacy as a philanthropist and business icon.

Stronach, born in Austria, founded Magna in 1957, growing it into a leading global auto parts supplier. He also established The Stronach Group, specializing in horse racing, and briefly ventured into Austrian politics. Stronach relinquished control of Magna in 2010, and the company has no knowledge of the ongoing investigation.

In 2018, Stronach sued his daughter and others for mismanagement of family assets, a case later settled.
