A Chicago man is accused of robbing a woman on a train just 11 days after being placed on probation for an earlier robbery at a train station, prosecutors stated.
Isaiah Turner, 18, along with two minors, was arrested on March 17 for allegedly robbing a man and a woman at the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Austin Blue Line station in Oak Park, according to CWBChicago’s report.
During the robbery, the suspects allegedly suggested they had a gun, prosecutors said.
Turner also faced charges for a February 5 robbery he was involved in as a minor.
Judge Antara Rivera initially supported prosecutors’ request for a detention petition, but Judge John Wellington Wilson later allowed Turner to plead guilty to aggravated robbery in August, leading to a sentence of two years’ probation.
However, on September 7, Turner allegedly implied he had a gun while robbing a 24-year-old woman on a Blue Line train near the Western station, as reported by CWBChicago.
The victim, identified as Lisa, was hit in the face and had her purse, phone, and Apple AirPods stolen, according to Judge Rivera’s detention order.
Police spotted a man matching Turner’s description and pursued him after he fled. Officers caught him and discovered headphones labeled “Lisa’s Airpods Pro.”
Turner is also on juvenile probation for aggravated battery, though it’s unclear if it relates to the February robbery. His latest charges remain unspecified.
