The woman, Nina, was viciously attacked by gang of teens leaving them severely bruised and battered in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood at about 8:30 p.m. last Friday.

The teens viciously assaulted the couple, with Nina’s husband initially being punched in the head before telling her to run. Nina, who was two weeks pregnant, pleaded with the gang, but a teenage girl dragged her to the ground, ripping out her hair and pepper-spraying her. Nina was repeatedly kicked in the stomach and punched.

Doctors later confirmed she had suffered a miscarriage due to the attack. Despite the trauma, Nina expressed her faith, saying, “We believe in faith, and it wasn’t meant to be. So we don’t know why this happened to us.”

Nina’s husband tried to defend her but was overpowered and beaten by the teens, who declared, “We own the street. You can’t walk around.” The gang scattered when police arrived, but authorities arrested a 14-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl, charging them with misdemeanor battery. Further charges remain unclear.
