A CNN report reveals that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Kamala Harris’ VP pick, repeatedly lied about a 1995 drunk driving arrest during his congressional campaign. Walz was pulled over for speeding in Nebraska and failed both a field sobriety test and a blood-alcohol test, leading to his arrest. However, during his run for Congress, Walz’s campaign falsely claimed he wasn’t drunk and attributed his failed sobriety test to hearing loss from his service in the National Guard.
The CNN report debunked these claims, showing that the campaign repeatedly misled the public. Walz’s then-communications director, Meredith Salsbery, falsely asserted that Walz was sober and misunderstood the trooper due to his hearing issues. The same narrative was pushed by Walz’s campaign manager, Kerry Greeley, who blamed the situation on Walz’s alleged deafness and balance problems.
These fabrications were widely reported in local media, including the New Ulm Journal and the Post Bulletin. Despite the campaign’s attempts to downplay the incident, Walz’s DUI charges were not dismissed due to innocence but rather through a plea deal.
Ben Shapiro, Editor Emeritus of the Daily Wire, recently highlighted Walz’s deceitful behavior in his “Scamala: Kamala Harris Unmasked” series, labeling Walz as a “radical and a liar” who misrepresented his past to maintain a clean-cut image.
