A Detroit doctor, Dr. Oumair Aejaz, faces accusations of severe sexual abuse and privacy violations after his wife turned him in to the police. On August 7, Michigan police, acting on a tip from Aejaz’s wife, obtained a search warrant and discovered 13,000 videos on a single hard drive. They also seized six computers, four cell phones, and 15 hard drives as evidence.
Authorities revealed that Aejaz allegedly recorded hundreds of patients, ranging from young children to adults, over a span of six years. Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald called it a “complete violation” and vowed to hold him accountable. The investigation is extensive, with Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard stating it could take six months to sift through the overwhelming amount of evidence. He described the case as one of the most disturbing he has encountered in his career.
Aejaz has been charged with multiple felonies, including sexual abuse of a child, recording minors and adults while nude, and using a computer to commit a crime. He is being held on a $2 million bond, with each of the 10 felony counts carrying a potential sentence of five to 20 years in prison if convicted. Bouchard noted that Aejaz, who has two children and no prior criminal history, targeted victims ranging from a 2-year-old boy to adult women. WDIV-TV has released a YouTube report with images and video from the investigation.
