Former MLB player Mark Mulder labeled San Francisco an “absolute hell hole of a city” after 49ers rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was shot during a robbery attempt.

As Breitbart News reported, Pearsall, a first-round draft pick, was shot in downtown San Francisco while resisting a robbery on Saturday. The 17-year-old suspect attempted to steal Pearsall’s Rolex, leading to a struggle during which Pearsall was shot in the chest. Fortunately, the bullet missed vital organs, and Pearsall is now in stable condition.

NBC Bay Area reporter Gia Vang confirmed that the suspect is in custody and that Pearsall’s condition is stable. Mulder expressed his frustration on X, criticizing the city’s state under what he called “mentally ill Libs.”

San Francisco Mayor London Breed condemned the violence, stating that such incidents will not be tolerated in the city. She extended her support to Pearsall, wishing him a swift recovery and a return to the field.
