Police arrested Oved Bernardo Mendoza Argueta, 37, for a shooting at a Las Colinas Chick-fil-A on Wednesday, according to NBCDFW. Officers found two victims with gunshot wounds, who later died. Mendoza Argueta’s spouse, an employee at the restaurant, identified him as the shooter.

Mendoza Argueta was charged with capital murder and booked into Irving Jail early Thursday. NBCDFW reported that ICE placed a hold on his booking, indicating plans to take custody. His immigration status remains unknown.

The shooting occurred near MacArthur Boulevard and Walnut Hill Lane. Police have not disclosed whether the victims were customers or employees, but they believe the attack was targeted. The victims’ names have not been released.

Latina Williams, whose daughter worked nearby, described the panic and concern for her child upon hearing the news. “This is too close,” she said.
