An illegal immigrant in Wisconsin is accused of fatally stabbing his two children and injuring his wife. Victor Manuel Gomez Acosta, a Mexican native, faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide and attempted homicide, potentially resulting in life imprisonment. He remains in custody at Clark County Jail with a $1 million bond and an ICE detainer.

Police responded to an emergency call in Abbotsford around 1:40 a.m. on July 5, finding two children fatally stabbed at the crime scene. WQOW-TV reported one child had 20 stab wounds, while the other had 16, with some appearing defensive. The mother was stabbed approximately 17 times, critically injuring her vocal cords and nearly severing her jugular vein, requiring emergency surgery.

After a 30-minute standoff, police arrested Acosta Gomez, who had self-inflicted stab wounds and was treated before being jailed. A motive remains unidentified, as stated in a press release.

Authorities, including the Colby-Abbotsford Police, Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin DOJ, and ICE, are investigating. Fox News reported Acosta Gomez entered the U.S. legally in 2016 but overstayed his permit. He had previous OWI arrests, and local police have faced challenges working with ICE since 2020, according to Police Chief Alex Bowman in an interview with Just the News.
