The Election Integrity Unit discovered that one of the forms, submitted by a local applicant and later rejected, could have allowed noncitizens to register for the 2024 election. Secretary Frank LaRose urged election officials to remain alert to prevent voter fraud as registration deadlines approach. Investigations are also targeting fraudulent submissions from third-party groups.
The investigation revealed that the form was mistakenly included by a foreign translation service and gained attention due to the growing number of Haitian refugees in the area. The Secretary of State’s office emphasized the importance of vigilance in processing voter forms.
