Collin Zier, a 38-year-old elementary school music teacher in Lena, Illinois, was arrested on Thursday for charges related to child pornography. Deputies from the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office took Zier into custody after an investigation revealed that he allegedly communicated with a student outside of school through an unapproved platform, according to WREX.

Zier’s arrest followed a report from the Orangeville School District, where he was still listed as a music teacher on the school’s website. The sheriff’s office believes there may be more students involved and urged them to come forward. Zier remains in the Stephenson County Jail awaiting a detention hearing, with the possibility of additional charges, as the investigation continues.

In a similar case, a substitute teacher in Homestead, Florida, was recently accused of possessing child pornography, as reported by Breitbart News. According to RAINN, child pornography, or CSAM, represents explicit material involving the abuse and exploitation of minors.
