A federal judge in Tennessee has released McKenzie McClure, a woman who identifies as a man, following her arrest for allegedly making threatening statements towards Christ Presbyterian Academy (CPA) in Nashville. In March, McClure, a former CPA student, left a voicemail referencing a Marvel movie scene involving violence, prompting the school and nearby Currey Ingram Academy to close temporarily.

McClure was arrested a month later for alleged cyberstalking, and security footage showed her making obscene gestures on campus. Despite objections from CPA parents, McClure was released by U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Chip Frensley after mental health professionals testified that she is taking her medication and no longer poses a threat. McClure will now receive outpatient care while living with her parents near the school.

McClure has a history of concerning social media posts, including one threatening the Tennessee Governor’s wife. In one post on X, she wrote, “I’m here. I’m QUEER. GET USED TO IT.”
