A social media influencer revealed to CBS News that left-wing organizations are paying influencers up to $10,000 or more monthly to produce liberal content. Awa Sanneh, a TikTok beauty influencer, disclosed that after visiting the White House, a progressive group hired her to promote their agenda.

Sanneh didn’t disclose her exact earnings but mentioned that creators with a following similar to hers could earn tens of thousands. She said that individual videos could bring in $3,000 to $10,000 or more. Robert Flaherty, who leads digital strategy for Kamala Harris’s campaign, acknowledged that they’ve engaged thousands of influencers by providing talking points, resources, and graphics for them to use.

Although Flaherty stated the campaign doesn’t directly pay influencers, CBS discovered many political groups that do. Sanneh claimed to disclose her payments for political posts, although the Federal Election Commission ruled in December that influencers aren’t required to reveal this information in political messaging. Sanneh also plans to attend the Democratic National Convention, where influencers are encouraged to create their own content with provided resources.

The report also highlighted that Turning Point USA has similarly recruited right-leaning influencers for years.
