The manhunt for Ali Ali, wanted for stabbing a laundromat worker in Brooklyn, ended Wednesday when New York State troopers shot and killed him in Orange County. Ali, who was armed and dangerous, crashed a stolen car near milepost 49 on the New York State Thruway before fleeing into the woods.

Ali was sought for reportedly attacking a female employee at a Brooklyn laundromat on Monday, slashing her with a blade.

State troopers had attempted to stop the stolen vehicle two hours earlier, which then burst into flames. After Ali was spotted on a trail camera, police issued a shelter-in-place order. Around 2 p.m., troopers confronted Ali off Trout Brook Road, where one officer fatally shot him.

Ali, previously on probation for sexual abuse, attacked a 50-year-old laundromat worker on Monday, slashing her neck and arms after learning his $15.34 worth of laundry wasn’t ready. The victim was hospitalized in stable condition.
