A New York pizzeria worker is in critical condition after being viciously attacked by a man and his pit bull outside a Manhattan restaurant. The incident began when the worker instructed Tyshaun Watson to take his unleashed dog outside the Roma Pizza restaurant on Fifth Avenue around 10 p.m. on Monday.

Watson reportedly responded by punching the worker, leading to a physical altercation that spilled onto the street. During the fight, Watson’s pit bull viciously attacked the worker. According to a co-worker, Watson stomped on the victim’s head multiple times, leaving him unconscious. Watson allegedly stopped the assault only after believing the worker was dead, then returned to the restaurant to wait for police.

A witness overheard Watson telling the dog it wouldn’t be fed because it disobeyed his command to “finish the job.” The employees managed to trap Watson inside the restaurant by locking the doors from the outside until police arrived.

Watson was arrested and charged with attempted murder. He was also wounded by his own dog during the attack. The victim was taken to the hospital with critical injuries but is expected to survive. Police took the dog into custody, though it’s unclear if it will be euthanized.
