Police confirmed several men were arrested in connection to the shooting, which left two men injured. One of the suspects, Jhonnarty Dejesus Pacheco-Chirinos, a documented Tren de Aragua member, remains in ICE custody. However, local authorities released the Azuaje-Perez brothers despite Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) placing detainer requests.
The brothers reportedly entered the U.S. via the Biden-Harris administration’s CBP One app, used for asylum appointments. Law enforcement agencies have noted an increase in Tren de Aragua activity in Colorado, linking the gang to several apartment takeovers in Aurora.
