An incident report obtained by Judicial Watch reveals that one of the two Jordanian illegal aliens accused of trying to breach Marine Corps Base Quantico in May was on a terror watch list.
Judicial Watch obtained the report, filed by Marine Base Quantico to Marine Headquarters, through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. On May 3, 32-year-old Hasan Yousef Hamdan and 28-year-old Mohammad Khair Dabous drove a truck to the base’s main gate, claiming they were delivering to Quantico Town’s post office.
Hamdan and Dabous lacked credentials to enter the base and allegedly attempted to breach it despite orders to stop. Hamdan only had a Jordanian passport.
Both were taken into custody and charged. The following month, a federal immigration judge allowed them to post bail, provided they avoid military bases and appear in immigration court later.
At the time, Hamdan had crossed the U.S.-Mexico border illegally into California 20 days earlier. After brief detention, he was released by DHS with a 2026 court date. An ICE agent confirmed to the Marine Criminal Investigations Division (CID) that Hamdan was on a terror watch list, but ICE officials later stated he is not a national security risk.
Dabous entered the U.S. on an F-1 student visa in September 2022, which expired in January 2023, making him an illegal alien.
Following the incident, Republicans on the House Homeland Security Committee opened a probe and requested documents from DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and FBI Director Christopher Wray. Compliance with the request remains unclear.
